Day 24 – The Silk Scarf

Chanel ScarfWelcome to Simply Swank!

Erica and I are so glad that you stopped by, and we hope that you continue to visit.  We’ve purposely kept this blog very simple.  Let’s face it — we’re all just way too busy to have to search for anything.  And before you go any further, please do two things:

1)  Click on the “About Us” link in the left sidebar for a short description of this blog and your authors.

2)  Click the Follow Us button at the bottom of the page to receive an e-mail message whenever we post something new.

Now that we have the housekeeping out of the way, let’s get this conversation on the road!

Even if you love Christmas shopping, it’s often difficult to find just the right gift for the swanky women in your life.  So each day from now until Christmas Eve, we are going to give you ideas for gifts that make “stylish” just that much easier.  And if you have any ideas along the way, please e-mail them to me at scoulter58@gmail.com, and I will share with the rest of our swanky community!

If you know me, you already probably know what I’m starting with – yes, that’s right, the scarf.  But this year, the silk scarf is coming back.  And the bigger, the better.

I’m exciting about this new fashion, because one of my most prized possessions is an authentic Chanel scarf that my stepdad bought for me in Paris about 30 years ago.  Silk scarves are so chic – over a plain sweater, a suit jacket or a classic car coat — drapey and beautiful, they are very easy to wear.  And who doesn’t need another scarf.

You can find silk scarves everywhere.  Most department stores have a fairly extensive selection.  Try local boutiques, or my favorite — art museum gift shops!

Here’s one of my favorite YouTube videos that shows 25 ways to wear a scarf.  Pass it along to your friends.
